What Are Minor Procedures?

At Coastal Health in Port Angeles, WA, minor procedures include any small-scale operations that we can perform right here in the office. These can include checking for and surgically removing warts and moles, cryogenic (freezing) wart removal, sutures, I&D, cyst removal, skin biopsies, joint injections, and minor aesthetic surgeries. If you notice something abnormal with your body, whether a growth on your skin or an ache in your joints, it's important to get checked out. Dr. Alisha Detorres and Dr. Jessica Panza can take the steps to assess and alleviate these issues quickly and effectively.

What's Involved in a minor Procedure?

Dr. Detorres or Dr. Panza will first meet with you to determine your needs and to decide on the best approach for your unique condition. They will perform a physical examination of the area of concern, discuss with you her recommended treatment plan, and determine the cost of the operation. A numbing anesthetic will be applied to protect against any pain or discomfort, and you may lie down on a comfortable office bed while Dr. Detorres or Dr. Panza performs a quick and simple operation. After, they will discuss with you how best to care for yourself and recover post-surgery. For these minor office procedures, a general anesthetic is usually unnecessary. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled as needed.
